Workshop Programme  - examples of past workshops

All mixed media workshops will be in small groups of no more than 6, giving flexibility to extend
regular attendees and support beginners.

The workshops are based on the use of clay, wood, metal & stone to explore coastal themes
(you are welcome to bring other materials). Most materials are provided, there will be a small fee for
certain elements but many students enjoy incorporating their own coastal finds into their piece.

Workshops are 3 sessions long on the same day of each week which allows for
the clay to dry and kiln firings. Each session is 3 hours long with coffee on arrival and refreshments
mid-morning or afternoon.

A typical mixed media workshop will involve the following………….
Week 1 – (3 Hours) Design & Wet clay work, please bring an apron, it can get messy!
Week 2- (3 Hours) Glaze work
Week3- (3 Hours) Assembling with beachcombings and found objects
(NB Boulder Stack/ Table top workshop is one day including lunch)

Wire & Ceramics for shelf sitting or Garden.  Cane tops, Plant supports, Mushrooms, Plant markers

This is a small scale ornamental project. You will make several pieces of your choice, using different guided techniques.
Using clay, wood and steel you will create intersting garden features which are both useful and pleasing to see amongst planting.Good preparation for your summer garden. Suitable for all. Max 4 people

Mixed Media Pictures- £120 (3 sessions)
Harbour scenes, Beach Huts and  bunting, Garden shed & flowers, Under the sea

Make 4 Small mixed media pictures for presents or multiple hangings or one large picture; you may prefer to bring your own wood for the backboard. I’m happy for you to choose your own picture theme. Max 4 people

Slip casting small vessels and mushrooms, a workshop in the garden at Rose cottage. - £80 (2 sessions)

A Mixed Media Taster Day in the garden studio (including lunch) - £120
Wed 10am-4pm  June 21st

Enjoy a relaxed day of creativity. Try your hand at various clay skills, have a go on the wheel, enjoy glazing and mark making. Assemble some premade glazed  pieces using wire, wood & stone. Lunch provided. Max 4 people
